According to Jason Newsted's manager, it has been incorrectly reported on other websites that Newsted used a Warwick 12-string bass on this album. Newsted did own a Warwick 12 at one time but used the Hamer on this album. He used the 12 for the "crack" in the intro and throughout the song. The band stated that they tried using an 8-string bass but, "It wasn't nearly heavy enough".
