An announcement of Cheap Trick’s touring plans includes a photo of a Hamer B12A 12-string bass. A discography of Cheap Trick albums and singles is included later in the magazine.

This issue also includes two photos of Nick Lowe with his Hamer B8S 8-string bass.

For the 1980 Yearbook published in the fall of 1980, Hit Parader recycled the photo of Tom Petersson and his Hamer B12A for the front cover. It was previously published in the January, 1980 issue. No other 12 content.

The June 1994, issue number 357 includes Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam on the cover with his Hamer “Ament 12-string bass.

The March, 1985 issue of Hit Parader includes a full-page article about Tom Petersson. This article was published after Petersson formed his new band, Tom Peterson & Another Language, with his wife Dagmar. Two paragraphs from the article read, “While his latest band has occupied most of his time, Peterson has also taken the opportunity to do a few other interesting music projects - the most noteworthy of which was appearing on Mick Jagger’s solo album. Playing in the recording studio alongside guitarist Jeff Beck and Jagger was, as Tom recalled, ‘an unforgettable experience’.”

“‘I had met guys who were producing Jagger’s albums a few months before they went to work on that project’, he explained. ‘They said they loved the sound of my 12-string bass, and that they’d like to have me overdub a few bass parts. Then I got a call to come down and play on a few of the sessions. They wanted me for the rock tracks. Most of the album has a reggae feel to it, and Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespear were the rhythm section on those. On my tracks I played with Beck and drummer Michael Shrieve, who did that album with Sammy Hagar and Neal Schon. Mick was there all the time, he had his hand in everything. He’s an amazing guy, so full of creative ideas. He’s an inspiration. He approaches rock and roll the way it should be done.’”

Editor’s note: The Mick Jagger solo album being referenced, “She’s the Boss”, was released in 1985. Petersson is not credited as having performed on the album.
