Ron has been playing bass for 20 years and 12-string for the last three years.
He plays about half of the songs at his live gigs on the 12.

 

In addition to the Carlo Robelli 12, Ron plays a Spector 4-string bass with Kahler tremolo and Hipshot, an Ibanez Soundgear fretless 4-string, and a Squier acoustic bass. His rig includes a Gallien-Kruger 400RB, a Digitech BP200 effects unit, a GK 4x10 cabinet and two 15's.

 

Ron writes, "I've always been interested in alternative basses. I'll play a regular old 4-string with no bells and whistles if I HAVE to, but it's not my first choice! Besides, it's loads of fun to have bassists (and others) come up between sets and say, 'What the hell is THAT???'"
