EMG-HZ Contest

Winner: Paul Wilson from California - Congratulations!

Thanks to Rick Hunt and EMG Pickups we are doing it again! Rick and EMG have been valued supporters of 12stringbass.net and have once again supplied us with a pair of the wonderful 35HZ passive bass humbuckers to offer as a contest prize. These pickups are an exact replacement for the stock Korean humbuckers found in the Hamer CH-12 and really bring that 12 to life. Their passive design offers a warm yet articulate alternative to the industry standard EMG active bass humbucker. Make no mistake, these are definitely not a cheaper model. They are high-quality passive pickups that are totally capable of producing excellent tones from clean and crisp to growling and thunderous. You can read our review of these pickups here.

EMG also offers the 40HZ model humbucker. It is an exact replacement for the stock pickups in the Waterstone TP 12-string bass models for those interested in upgrading the electronics but who want to stay passive. For more information check out www.emgpickups.com to find complete details.

Thanks to Rick Hunt and EMG for their generous support once again!

How to Enter

Entering this contest is easy - just send us something we can use here on this site. You can submit photos, mp3's, reviews, just about anything that pertains to the 12-string bass. Each photo or item counts as an entry, and you can enter as many times as you like. All entries must be something that is not currently on the site, and they can not have been submitted in one of our previous seven contests.

You can submit your entries via email to surf@12stringbass.net, or via snailmail using the address in the official rules below. Be sure to include your name, complete address and phone number. All personal information will be kept confidential. The contest runs from September 28, 2007 through October 31, 2007. Every entry will get your name in a hat, and as always the winner will be chosen by my daughter in a random drawing from all eligible entries. The winner will be announced on November 4th and the EMG-HZ pickups will be shipped the very next day.

Need a suggestion as to what to submit? Here is a list of things that will get you entered. All must be relevant to the 12-string bass:
